Meet the Team.

I joined BDO Binder Hamlyn in 1987 and dealt with owner managed business before specialising in personal tax. In 1998 I moved to Deloitte and Touché private clients in Cambridge to further my career in personal tax and high net worth individuals. After a stint in the Channel Islands I set up my own business and have progressed from my parents spare room to 11 members of staff, over 350 personal tax clients and nearly 200 corporate clients!

I enjoy working with a great team of people, and we are heavily invested in a hands on approach with our clients which is reflected in the level of client retention and high level of service offered.

I qualified with ACCA with Deloitte in 1998 and after leaving practice in 2001 spent the next 14 years in a number of Financial Accountant/Financial Controller roles in a variety of industries.  Having returned to help Nick out for a bit in 2015 I find myself still here 6 years later!

My responsibilities include managing the team, managing the clients and everything in between! I deal mainly with the corporate clients and enjoy the hands on approach with have with all of our clients.

I started working in Accounting Practice some 28 years ago where I gained my AAT qualification. I am part-time so you will find me at the office three days a week.

I have been with the Practice for a little over 9 months. My main responsibility within this practice is management of the Construction Industry Scheme team. This involves overseeing verification of sub-contractors, submission of monthly CIS returns and day to day bookkeeping for our many clients. With the introduction of the reverse VAT charge scheme we have had a challenging time and I would like to think that we have made the process as seamless as possible for all our clients with this major change.

I joined NW accountancy in May 2021 having spent just under thirteen years in Property management accounting. The change was due to moving home to the Bury St Edmunds area from Hertfordshire in May 2019.

At present I am learning new systems and the various clients having not previously worked in practice. I am finding this challenging but very enjoyable.

I have worked for NW Accountancy for four years.

My role within the practice is day to day bookkeeping across various industry sectors for our numerous clients. This will include helping the construction industry team when required, also completion of VAT returns, raising invoices for some clients. We have over the past year moved to Sage Business Cloud and along with autoentry I have been assisting many clients on the change from Sage desktop.

I gained a degree in Animal Biology and Conservation from Oxford Brookes before changing paths and joining the company in February 2020. I am involved in the day to day bookkeeping mainly as well as some office admin. I have been part of moving across to new software such as Sage Business Cloud and AutoEntry and getting to grips with the new ways of doing things. I also do my best to assist with the IT side of the business!

After trying to retire in 2007 from a successful family business I now find myself being the administration person in the office and even in my latter years I’ve now got to grips with the online version of Sage and AutoEntry meaning you are never too old to learn!

I joined the team in April 2021 having worked in the construction industry for a number of years. I am now heavily involved with the CIS clients and getting used to new systems and procedures.

I joined N W Accountancy after being given the opportunity by Nick to start my studies and gain a qualification in AAT, having left Long Road Sixth Form College in Cambridge. Here I studied Business, Sociology and Criminology, all three subjects which I thoroughly enjoyed.

I am looking forward to commencing my studies in AAT in August, to progress my career in accounting, having been very involved in the set up of Autoentry both internally and externally and the setting up of new clients on sage business cloud.

I joined the team in April 2021, coming from a small team in industry where I worked for 3 years. I am currently studying the final level of the AAT qualification and aiming to be qualified by the end of the year, after which I will be continuing my studies with the ACCA qualification.

I am enjoying the diverse range of clients within the practice and look forward to progressing my career at N W Accountancy.
